Announcing the EWA: Equine Writers of America.

Established in 2008, Equine Writers of America is a limited liability corporation of individuals dedicated to promoting better understanding and communication within the equine writer fellowship. The EWA seeks to achieve tangible benefits for professional writers through the collective power and voice of its membership body.  This includes sharing basic information on improving strategies for book proposals and magazine article queries, seeking improved contracts, protecting authors' rights, promoting a living wage, facilitating conflict resolution, providing tax strategies, helping members acquire legal help, and providing a forum on acquiring affordable health insurance. Regular reports to members bring them up to date on professional issues of immediate importance, and give them the information necessary to negotiate from a position of strength. Questionable practices and companies are posted on the Heads Up forum.
